Group Leader — TIFLab, Università degli Studi di Milano & INFN Milano

I lead the group’s work on machine learning for high-energy physics. A theme I particularly care about is the validity of ML models in physics: making sure an ML result is not only fast but also trustworthy, well-calibrated, and understood. This question also drives my involvement in the VERaiPHY and PhyStat efforts.
